The outbreak of World War 2 deprived Australia of access to much needed parts for aeroplanes, tanks & ships for the war effort. To meet some of this need a factory was secretly established in a room above the garage of "Midhurst", which was the home of Swiss watchmaker, Ernest Kuenzli. Local girls were recruited to work at different times of the day, and arrived by bicycle to maintain the shroud of secrecy.
