At one time the trees each side of Wahroonga Avenue, at the Burns Road end were thought to be like two rows of giants fighting, and they were called the Battle Of Wahroonga. Council workers came to lop them and the residents all turned out, and in an angry confrontation dissuaded them. This was also known as the Battle of Wahroonga.
